Each year we help provide Christmas for children
at the Methodist Children’s Home & Bethlehem Center.

Our church has a long relationship with Trinity
Mission Center (Hispanic) in Forest, Mississippi, where annually we help provide a Thanksgiving meal for 25 families.

The aim of the Methodist Cursillo is to bring Christians to a fuller personal knowledge of their relationship to Lord Jesus Christ, and to develop a deeper level of apostleship and commitment.
 
Cursillo is a program that calls forth and renews Christian discipleship. Cursillo is a 3 day experience, Thursday night through Sunday afternoon. It is a highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christians, and through them their families, congregations, and the world in which they live. During Cursillo, one will live and study together in singing, prayer, worship, and discussion. One will experience God’s grace personally through the prayers and acts of service of a living support community.
 
There are seven Cursillo weekend most years, five at Camp Wesley Pines.
Any adult interested may attend. You will get a local church Cursillo member to sponsor you. The cost is $185.00 for the weekend. Betsy Welch is the Brandon First UMC Cursillo leader. We have many members of our church who attended Cursillo. We are all happy to share bits of our experience with you and encourage you to attend.
